Landmark competition is starting to heat up

THERE are only two weeks left to enter the Landmark Awards 2008 and the competition is hotting up.

With the region’s top property professional vying for the big prizes, we are sure to see some great projects in the running at the big awards night in October.

Previous ceremonies have been very well attended, and even those who don’t take home the top gongs from the night have the chance of a little networking, to drink with their friends and rivals, and celebrate the regeneration of the region.

As ever this year, for each category there will be one winner, with the architect, developer and contractor for the winning project each receiving an award.

The winners will be presented with their prizes at the prestigious black tie dinner and awards ceremony held at the Newcastle Marriott Hotel at Gosforth Park, on Thursday, October 16.

The Journal Landmark Awards aim to spotlight those initiatives/developments, which represent the very best in concept, design and construction. Submissions will have enhanced the region and the lives of those within the North East.

These awards will be independently judged by an experienced panel of judges.

The award categories are retail/leisure; office development; environmental; public sector; residential development; and the Judges’ Gem for smaller schemes which cost less than £2.5m to develop. Awards are open to companies building within the circulation area of The Journal/Evening Gazette. All projects entered into the scheme will have been completed between the August 13, 2007 and August 13, 2008.
