Ethics are delivered fresh to shopper’s door

A NORTH online ethical retailer has expanded its operations and added its support to locally-produced organic products in the process.

Ethicalsuperstore.com, the UK’s largest single site for all ethical, Fairtrade, eco-friendly products has now launched an organic fresh fruit and vegetable service which utilises the nearest available organic box delivery service in their customers’ own area, wherever they are in the UK.

Managing director of Ethicalsuperstore.com, Vic Morgan, says the progression to offering organic fresh food deliveries from the site was a natural one.

He said: “There are a great number of organic box deliveries of this kind and we wanted to make sure our regular customers had access to these while doing the rest of their shopping on our site.

“Our customers can buy just about anything else from us, so once the logistics and technology was established, organic boxes from local suppliers was a simple step to take.”

Ethicalsuperstore.com customers simply have to insert their postcode on the special page on the site. This immediately brings up the available fruit and veg options from their local supplier. It’s a scheme that has won backing from a number of independent organic box delivery operations across the UK.

Serving ethicalsuperstore.com’s customers in parts of the North-East is Newcastle company North Country Organics. Owner Tracy Holland said: “It’s a great addition to ethical superstore’s site and it made perfect business sense for us to be their preferred supplier in this region.

“Ethicalsuperstore.com has offered a market place which brings together local farmers and independent producers. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved, especially the customer.”

Ethicalsupertsore.com has secured independent producers and farmers across the UK, covering areas such as London, Yorkshire and the South-West, and hopes to have several more on board in the coming weeks.

All partners are holders of the Soil Association’s Organic Standard mark. The boxes start at £13 and are just one of the many thousands of products now available on the site.

Some of its newest products include the Trevor Bayliss Eco wind-up media player and the Powermonkey eXplorer portable solar charger.
