NORTHUMBRIA Healthcare is very proud of what we have achieved in the 10 years since we became established as a trust to cover the whole of North Tyneside and Northumberland.

We know we have the advantage of modern technology that health providers could never have dreamed of when the NHS was born in 1948. However, it is largely our excellent staff that enables us to say that we’re one of the top healthcare trusts in the country.
We’ve decided to share them with you so they can explain what services we have to offer, and you can be reassured, should you ever need our services.
Our aim is simple – we’re here for you whatever your healthcare needs. We’re here for you whether you’re having a baby or need emergency medical care.
We’re living up to our promise by putting this statement, and some of our staff, on all our new branding. We want to take away the anxiety that people often feel when they’re ill or need medical attention and to reassure that our staff will be there for you at your time of need.
You may have spotted members of our staff, including a midwife, consultant and a ward sister, brightening up the roads with their faces on the sides of our vans. We’re so confident in our staff that we believe we’re the first health trust in the country to feature staff members on its vehicles.
If you come into our hospitals you’ll also receive a friendly welcome in the reception areas with more personalised branding featuring our staff.
You can look at us from the comfort of your own home too. We have a new-look website which we’ve designed after listening to the kind of information that patients and visitors want and expect from one of the top-performing health trusts.
We’re still working on it but we’ve made a pretty good start.
You can watch videos with our consultants explaining directly to you the work that they do and what you can expect from your treatment. We also understand how worrying it is for parents if your child is ill. Visit our excellent children’s services section where our friends Ant and Dec explain in child-friendly terms what coming into our hospitals might mean for them.
Your views matter to us so we’ve made it easier for you to feedback on what you think of our services.
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – we’re here for you.
