BHP Law has made a landmark move into Teesside.
Last year, the 250-strong North-east firm announced a merger with long-standing Thornaby lawyers James and Baker, extending BHP Law’s footprint from Darlington into the heart of Teesside.
This week they moved the 35 staff on the combined team to new offices at Preston Farm.
“Our long-term plan is for growth and jobs,” said BHP Law’s director of marketing Bryan Hoare. “The building has capacity for 75-80, which would put us close to the largest firm on Teesside.”
He said expansion was “demand led”, but further acquisitions in the short-term were unlikely; the firm would look instead for “organic growth”.
“We already have a good understanding of the Teesside market place with industry specific to the North-east, including the petrochemical sector and shipping,” said Mr Hoare.
