FORMER Tees Valley Chef of the Year, Mark Jones, has returned as manager and head chef to the Ocean Restaurant, situated next door to The Staincliffe Hotel in Seaton Carew.

Mark opened the seafood restaurant in 2003 but took a back seat last year to concentrate on other business interests, including catering contracts for Hartlepool United and Seaton Carew Golf Club.

MARKETING expert Hayley Stewart has rejoined Guisborough-based PR agency DTW as a board director.

A University of Teesside marketing graduate, Hayley previously enjoyed a five-year stint with the agency but left to help run a family business and undertake freelance consultancy work.

DARLINGTON Football Club has made the double appointment of new operations manager, Roland Richardson and food and beverage manager, Michael Robinson.

Responsible for the smooth running of the stadium, Roland has worked for prestigious venues such as Slaley Hall and Redworth Hall hotels as well as Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.

Meanwhile, Michael will oversee catering operations at the Darlington Arena including the supporters’ bars and food outlets, hospitality boxes and lounges and corporate events.

STOCKTON man Martin Holliday has joined Tees Valley firm Arlington Financial as an independent financial advisor.

With 23 years experience of the financial sector, Martin started out as an insurance agent for Prudential before taking on advisory roles at Allied Dunbar, where he stayed for eight years, and Willett & Ross Financial Services.

Also joining the firm is marketing executive Catherine Turnbull, who graduated this year from Northumbria University with a first class honours degree in International Business Management.

LES PEACOCK from Hartlepool has been appointed by Investors in People North East to help local businesses improve their productivity and competitiveness.

Les joins the organisation’s 24-strong team as a specialist developer and assessor, having worked in an advisory role for five years with Business Link North East.
