AWARD-WINNING building company Rok has chosen Northumberland-based JBT Waste Services as its recycling services provider to cover the entire North East region.
The construction and maintenance company is committed to achieving tough waste management targets. JBT’s impressive track record of working alongside customers to increase recycling rates will help Rok attain the challenging goals it has set across all of its North East sites.
Rok has grown, in seven years, from a small regional company with half a dozen offices and an annual revenue of £92m to a nationwide business with more than 5,000 employees and sales in excess of £950m.
During 2008, the Newcastle (Metrocentre) office of Rok has grown through a clutch of acquisitions. It recently launched Rok Plumbing, Heating and Electrical, providing a specialist service with dedicated technicians. Rok believes an increasing amount of its work will be in the renewable energy market.
Graham Palmer, managing director of JBT Waste Services, is delighted to be working with such a high-achieving company. He said: “Rok’s priority of being a customer-driven service business is admirable, and mirrors our own approach. The company has proved that its commitment to sustainability in each of the communities it works is genuine. We are delighted to work alongside them and help them achieve their ambitious targets at each of their North East sites.”
Rok, like JBT, is committed to investing in new technologies and methods to protect and enhance the environments in which they work.
David Jukes, Rok Group environmental leader, is delighted with the way in which JBT is helping it achieve its challenging environmental targets. He said: “JBT was chosen because of its outstandingly proactive, professional approach.
“The company’s high recycling standards and investment in the latest technology give it a definite edge, and will help our businesses boost their levels of recycling. This goes hand-in-hand with our targets in reducing the amount of waste we produce.”
