Farmers wanted for food industry awards

NORTH East farming businesses are being urged to put themselves forward for a competition recognising the best in the food and agriculture sector.

There are 10 categories in this year’s Food and Farming Industry Awards, including the top accolade of Farm Business of Year.

Judges for the top award are seeking a cutting-edge company with national and/or global presence and a ‘next generation’ approach to business.

It should also be a major employer, which can adapt quickly to new business ideas and technology.

Previous winners include Lincolnshire Field Products, Bowes of Norfolk and G’s Marketing.

The 10 award categories are:

Farm Business of the Year.

Agronomist of the Year.

Progressive Farmer of the Year.

Family Business of the Year (farmers).

Rural Enterprise Award.

Food Chain Marketing Award.

Arable Marketing Award.

Taste of Excellence Award.

Personality of the Year.

Food & Farming Retailer of the Year.
