Partnersplan fortomorrow

ASSOCIATED with every manufacturing operation, whether it is an offshore oil and gas production or onshore gas, petrochemical or steel plant facility is an engineering department.
Routine maintenance, capital investment plans, engineering design and project execution and research and development are only five areas in which any engineering function supports its core activity.
The TVEP engineering supply chain within the region supports all of these engineering functions as well as developing support for local engineering businesses.
Within the supply chain, engineering specialists, recruitment professionals, universities and training enterprises all have a role to play in fulfilling the engineering demands of these companies from technician training and development to technical apprenticeships and are seen as key drivers in attracting highly skilled engineers into the area and developing the “engineers of tomorrow” through close liaison with local schools, colleges and universities.
Despite the global economic recession which has now been with us for nearly a year now, our engineers from the Tees Valley are working on construction projects in Libya, Nigeria, Kazakhstan and Gabon while also carrying our engineering design in Aberdeen and London, bringing in vital revenue to the local economy where they have home locations.
TVEP have close links with academia providing input into the “engineers of tomorrow”.
In particular, we are extremely proud of the close relationship we have with the University of Teesside, recently voted University of the Year and winners of the Outstanding Employer Engagement Initiative at the Times Higher Education Awards.
TVEP are pleased to be associated with the efforts of the University and we echo the sentiments of Professor Henderson that “winning this Award will go a long way towards changing perceptions - not just of the University but also of the town and the Tees Valley, both nationally and internationally.”
