Jon’s delight at landing IT role

An 18-month search for a job has had a happy ending for Middlesbrough man Jon Loughran.

He has been appointed IT technician with family law firm Askews where he is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all the 60 employees’ PCs and solving any technology-related problems.

The 26-year-old, from Coulby Newham, had applied for scores of IT jobs since being made redundant in the summer of 2008.

“I applied for every appropriate job that came up,” said Jon, “although, out of all of them, this was the one that I was most keen to get so I was so pleased when I was told the job was mine!”

The firm’s manager, Simon Askew, said he had been delighted to end Jon’s long job search.

“The role of IT technician has become even more important since we opened our Middlesbrough office giving us three sites over which our wide area network now spans,” he added.

“Jon has already provided excellent hardware and software support in the recent expansion of our digital dictation solution which enables us to work more efficiently in providing a quicker service for our clients.”
