Chance to learn marketing art from leading lights

LEADING figures from the world of advertising and marketing will be sharing their knowledge at a high-profile event tomorrow to help North East bosses promote their businesses.
Trevor Beattie, a partner at top London ad agency Beattie, McGuinness, Bungay (BMB), and the man responsible from memorable campaigns including the “Hello Boys” Wonderbra adverts, will be among the luminaries at the third Marketing: The Art Of conference on Tyneside.
He will be joined by Rita Clifton, former executive planning director and vice chairman at Saatchi & Saatchi, in an event which will give practical advice and host workshops for North East firms. The day will finish with the chance to mix it up in style – networking with up to 300 businesses while sampling and learning to create cocktails.
Julie Spowart, events manager at Business & Enterprise North East, which delivers the Business Link service in the region, said: “This is the largest and most prestigious event of its kind in the North East designed to help the region’s businesses to stand out, target new markets and achieve long-term success.
“Marketing: The Art Of brings together under one roof some of the leading figures from the world of marketing alongside practical workshops covering all of the latest techniques and trends.
“It’s also a fantastic opportunity to network with like-minded individuals to share ideas and best practice. I would urge any business looking to get the most out of its marketing strategy to make sure they don’t miss out.”
There will be sessions giving tips on digital marketing and augmented reality, which uses digital technology in new and effective sales strategies.
The conference is supported by The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). Visit www.marketingtheartof.com or call 0191 241 4523.
