Delegates off to good start at Newcastle conference

BUDDING entrepreneurs in Newcastle were given a helping hand to turn business ideas into successful ventures at a Start Your Business conference.

The conference was held at the Civic Centre, Newcastle, last weekend and attracted 300 delegates, who enjoyed face-to-face advice from business experts on topics from finance and marketing to planning and law.

Delegates also took part in interactive workshops and seminars, and were given access to a series of free guides packed with practical information on how to start a business.

The information and advice was delivered by experts who have experienced first-hand how to run a business, giving a valuable insight into what it takes to get started and be successful.

Julie Spowart, events manager at Business & Enterprise North East – the organisation that delivers the Business Link service in the North East – said: “We’ve had an excellent turn-out at the event. It’s very encouraging to see that, in these uncertain times, people still have the confidence and determination to start their own businesses.

“We hope to see that the advice and information delegates have received will turn their ideas into real businesses and support the growth of the North East economy.”
