THIS summer will see the publication of two more major supplements in The Journal celebrating the talents of companies and individuals in the North East.
On Thursday, July 10, we will be publishing our highly-prestigious Top 250 North East Companies supplement, which is well established as required reading for the region’s business community.
It will be the 31st year that
What started out as the Top 100 in the 1970s has grown steadily over the years and became the Top 250 for the first time in 2007.
As usual, the listing will be researched and compiled by the experts at Durham University Business School. And – after an eventful 12 months for the region’s business community – there could be plenty of movement towards the top of the league.
Before that, though, there is another prestigious publication to look out for.

We are currently carrying out exhaustive research into compiling the 500 names and this major publication will provide biographical details of every one of them.
We are looking at those individuals who:
:: Hold positions in companies and organisations with the power, influence or ability to greatly assist others in the North East;
:: Lead companies that, because of their size or what they do, are of great importance to the region;
:: Hold positions of influence in the public sector, in religious communities, public office, sport, culture and other important sectors.
