Innovative Raytec has set its sights far and wide as it has grown, and exports now account for well over half of its total sales. Its focus on the global CCTV market has seen the firm secure business in continental Europe, America and Asia.

This custom manufacturer of peptides and antibodies for medical research secured almost half of its sales in 2008 from overseas trade. Based at Billingham's Belasis Hall Technology Park, it is an advocate of driving sales by direct selling.

The company, based at Teesside Industrial Estate, Thornaby, invented and patented environmentally-friendly, dust-free loading chutes for handling dry bulk materials.

The Washington-based company manufactures an extensive range of filtration equipment for compressed air, compressed gas, vacuum and medical applications – with 86% of products exported worldwide.
Meditek
County Durham-based Meditek provides access solutions for the elderly and disabled around the world. From its head office in Fishburn, near Sedgefield, it manufactures and exports a number of products, including access lifts, and saw exports treble to 28% of its sales between 2006 and 2007.
