John Hunston has been re-elected chairman of the Cumberland Society of Chartered Accountants (CSCA). Mr Hunston, training schemes manager at Armstrong Watson, Carlisle, who has been CSCA chairman since May 2006, said: "I am looking forward to the year ahead, in which I aim to help ensure that the views of Cumbria's chartered accountants continue to be heard by the new Business Link North- West, the regional development agency and other key decision-makers.
"I also hope to encourage chartered accountants in the area - and in particular those in business - to benefit from the courses we are running to continue professional development."
A law graduate of Nottingham University, Mr Hunston, 50, started his career with Price Waterhouse (now PwC) in 1979, qualifying as a chartered accountant four years later.
He has also held finance posts at Austin Rover, the Silentnight Group, WCF Ltd and Cavaghan & Gray.
