Trainees now join partners

Darlington law firm Latimer Hinks has appointed two of its former trainee solicitors as partners. Nicola Neilson, 29, and Claire Reeves, 28, have joined the eight-strong team of partners. Nicola joined the firm in 2000. She studied law at Teesside University before a master's degree at Durham.

She specialises in commercial property, including landlord and tenant matters and the sale and purchase of freehold properties.

Claire works in the private client department. She joined the firm in 2001 after Durham University. Inheritance tax planning, estate planning, wills and probate are her specialism.

Latimer Hinks partner Anne Elliott said: "Nicola and Claire's appointments demonstrate our ongoing commitment to employing and retaining young, talented solicitors.

"It is very pleasing that two of our trainees have progressed to partner level.

"Firms in towns such as Darlington with specialist solicitors can offer a high quality of work and training, with the added benefit of a less stressful living environment, proving that the town can compete with the likes of Leeds or Newcastle in terms of training and retaining the best legal talent."
