Keen sailor Graeme Boagey has found a new 'berth' - as chairman of the Teesside Society of Chartered Accountants (TSCA). Mr Boagey, 43, tax partner at Chipchase Manners, Middlesbrough, takes over from Graham Fitzgerald.
Born in Hartlepool, he was educated at the town's Henry Smith School and has a degree in economics and social policy from Newcastle University.
Mr Boagey began his career with Thomson McLintock (now KPMG) in Newcastle in 1984, qualifying as a chartered accountant three years later. After spells at KPMG offices in Toronto and Hull, he joined Chipchase Manners, becoming a partner in 1996.
A member of Tees and Hartlepool Yacht Club, Mr Boagey has a 24ft sailing boat moored in Hartlepool Marina.
For the past five years he has been treasurer of the Albert Centre, a Middlesbrough-based drugs and alcohol counselling charity. He lives in Ingleby Barwick, Stockton.
