Specialist in brands moved by aspiration

JUSTIN BARLOW has joined Newcastle commercial law firm Muckle LLP as director of business development.

He joins from software group Sage, where he was responsible for developing the brand and generating sales for the mid-market division.

He arrives at a time of rapid growth, with an increase of 20% in turnover last year and a successful recruitment campaign that is increasing numbers and attracting high calibre people to the region.

The business is also preparing for a move next year to new offices at Time Central in Gallowgate, Newcastle.

Justin said: “What attracted me to the firm is its aspirations for the future and its growth plans, which are backed by passionate teams with a strong service-excellence ethos.

“I’m looking forward to bringing my extensive commercial experience to Muckle LLP, contributing to the firm’s successful future, and helping to expand the firm’s loyal client base’’.

He joins as the firm adopts a new brand, which includes a name change from Robert Muckle to Muckle LLP.

Managing partner Steve McNicol said: “We are of a size now and growing at a rate where we need to have an experienced business development director who can help us deliver on our future growth plans.

“Justin has been working in business development for a number of years and is extremely highly regarded. With his appointment we are continuing to put in place a management team which would be the envy of a much bigger firm.”
