Property expert to join leading law firm

LEADING lawyer David Stone has joined the York office of Dickinson Dees as a partner to head up the commercial property department.

After graduating from Cambridge University, David, 52, was articled at City of London firm Simmons & Simmons.

Following a couple of years of post-qualification experience there, he moved to Yorkshire and joined law firm Andrew Jackson in Hull as a partner in their commercial property department in 1985.

David initially specialised in out-of-town retail schemes for a nationally known furniture retailer.

He then switched to development, and for the last 10 years has been engaged in advising developers on a range of industrial, leisure, and retail projects across the UK.

David, described as “extremely hard-working” by the influential Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession, said of his move: “I think that Dickinson Dees is large enough to provide the range of skills necessary for the in-depth legal advice required by commercial clients, but this is combined with an ethos where clients are treated as more than just a computer number on a database.”
