Lauder joins Baker Tilly team

CHRIS Lauder, a leading risk, governance and internal audit specialist, has joined Baker Tilly as a partner in the Newcastle office.

The 44-year-old spent the last five years in Manchester and Leeds as lead director in Deloitte’s Regional Internal Audit & Risk Management Practice and will take up a similar brief at Baker Tilly Newcastle.

He will continue working across the public and private sectors, using his considerable experience to assist leading public bodies and corporates in region.

He said: “Given the size and quality of the firm in the North-East and their ambitions and commitment to developing their breadth of client service it was an easy decision to switch over to Baker Tilly. ”

Jim Meakin, Baker Tilly’s managing partner in Newcastle, said: “Chris’s addition to the team in Newcastle is a major coup for the firm as he brings a wealth of experience across the public and private sectors where he operates at the very highest level. His appointment is part of our strategy to continue to grow our business in the region by broadening the range of expertise we can offer.”

Chris is a native of the North-East and lives in Rowlands Gill. He studied at Keele University before joining Touche Ross as a graduate trainee in 1985.
