AIM seminar attracts big names from business world

A HIGH-PROFILE seminar on the Alternative Investment Market, organised by the Yorkshire office of Newcastle law firm Dickinson Dees, attracted some significant names from the county’s business world.

The seminar at Hazlewood Castle, near Tadcaster, was attended by some of the north of England’s leading corporate finance advisers, including representatives of Brewin Dolphin, PricewaterhouseCoopers and the London Stock Exchange.

Philip Ashworth, corporate partner of Dickinson Dees, commented: “The seminar gave a comprehensive overview of what is involved in floating on AIM. It was well attended and well received”

One of the key speakers at the seminar was Jeremy Hamer, a well-known and nationally-respected businessman with extensive experience as chairman of a number of AIM-listed companies, including Access Intelligence and Glisten.

Mr Hamer has been involved in the AIM admission process itself and in subsequent fund-raisings, acquisitions and bids.

Mr Ashworth added: “Jeremy’s wealth of experience comes from the user’s perspective, not the professional’s, and it proved invaluable for those looking to investigate the many opportunities offered by AIM. His talk went down exceptionally well.”

Other speakers included: Mark Fahy from the London Stock Exchange, Mark Brady from Brewin Dolphin, Ian Morrison from PricewaterhouseCoopers, Nigel Bellis from Dickinson Dees and Philip Ashworth himself.
