Search launched for top achiever

NOMINATIONS are being invited for a national prize won earlier this year by Tyneside-born better regulation guru Teresa Graham.
Mrs Graham, OBE, who began her career with PriceWaterhouse in Newcastle, became the first woman to receive the Outstanding Achievement award presented by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
The accolade was in recognition of her contribution to the SME sector, to better regulation and to the accountancy profession.
Now the search is on for another top achiever, as nominations open for the 2008 award, which is presented to an ICAEW member in recognition of an outstanding contribution made in any field of endeavour.
Now in its 28th year, the award was introduced by the four founding societies – London, Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield – that originally came together to form the ICAEW.
Past winners include Lord Bilimoria, chief executive of Cobra Beer Limited; Peter Wyman, PricewaterhouseCoopers’ partner and UK head of professional affairs, and Sir William Castell, vice-chairman and chief executive of GE Healthcare.
