Dickinson Dees gives new recruits a warm welcome

TWO senior lawyers have joined Dickinson Dees’ Yorkshire office in York.

Steven Berry and Alistair Scott-Somers joined the commercial property and corporate departments at Dickinson Dees’ new premises in the Chocolate Works, Bishopthorpe Road, York.

Steven qualified as a solicitor in November 1984, and has worked for law firms Booth and Co in Leeds, Hill Dickinson in Liverpool and Andrew M Jackson in Hull. He joins as a retail property specialist from Andrew M Jackson, where he was a salaried partner. He said: “My aim is to develop the retail sector work within the firm throughout Yorkshire.”

Alistair, joins Dickinson Dees as an associate in the York corporate team. He has worked for Eversheds in Leeds specialising in private equity and more recently as in-house counsel for Premier Farnell plc. Philip Ashworth, partner in charge of the York office of Dickinson Dees, commented: “We extend a warm welcome to both Steven and Alistair. The expansion this year in York has been phenomenal, which is why we have moved to our new premises in the old Terry’s headquarters building in Bishopthorpe Road.”

Dickinson Dees’ senior partner, Robin Bloom said: “We now have five partners operating out of the Yorkshire office, two specialising in corporate work, one in tax, one in planning and one in property, who are backed up by a 32-strong team.
