Rankin thanks colleagues as he takes a Wise step up

INVESTMENT management firm Wise Speke has promoted a man it describes as “one of its most talented young investment experts” to assistant director.

Michael Rankin, 32, who works in the company’s Teesside office, joined Wise Speke in 2000 as an investment adviser and from there quickly progressed to investment manager level.

Specialising in the management of portfolios for private clients, Michael has progressed to the senior role of assistant director in less than seven years.

He said: “It’s thanks to the support of colleagues at Wise Speke who have helped nurture me along the way, that I’ve been able to progress.”

William Baker, head of Wise Speke in Teesside, said: “Michael’s promotion to assistant director is a very well deserved accolade. He’s a great asset to the team here and I have a lot of respect for the hard work and enthusiasm he has shown over the past few years. ”

Michael, originally from Gateshead, graduated from Northumbria University with an Environmental Management degree in 1998 and started his career as a stockbroker with Barclays in the late 1990s.
