SPRINGHOUSE Caravan Park in Slaley, Northumberland, has been bought by a Yorkshire company in a £1.6m deal.
Wakefield-based Blue Sky Resorts has bought Springhouse in a deal funded by NatWest bank.
The park was established in the 1960s and accommodates up to 99 static caravans, touring caravans, motor homes and tents.
Situated in the heart of Slaley Forest just outside Hexham, it enjoys fabulous views and walks in Hadrian’s Wall country.
Blue Sky Resorts plans to invest £500,000 over the next few years to upgrade the park’s infrastructure and redevelop the existing caravan pitches and park facilities to a five-star standard.
The acquisition increases the number of caravan parks in the Blue Sky Resorts’ portfolio to three – the other two are Heathergate Country Park in Lowgate, Hexham, and Nostell Priory Holiday Park, near Wakefield, both of which won Gold in the David Bellamy environmental awards last year.
Blue Sky operations director Mark Alston said: “Springhouse Caravan Park is a well established business that has provided great facilities for over 30 years.
“We are delighted to have completed this acquisition, as it fits with Blue Sky Resorts’ growth strategy and I would like to thank the team at NatWest for their support in this deal.”
NatWest Commercial Banking relationship manager Jonathan Roston said: “The Blue Sky Resort team has a proven track record in this industry and this latest acquisition expands their operations to another part of Northumberland. We look forward to working with them on future projects to meet their growth aspirations.”
