Business adviser Ian hits the road

BUSINESS adviser Ian Smith is playing a leading role in a series of roadshows around the country for accountants with solicitor clients.

Mr Smith, a partner at Newcastle accountancy firm Ryecroft Glenton, is co-presenting the seminars aimed at finance professionals specialising in Solicitors’ Accounts Rules ‘audits’ for law firms.

He is vice-chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants’ Solicitors Group, which is organising the events at six locations.

Yesterday he was in Cambridge, tomorrow he will be in Birmingham, followed by Bristol on February 27, Manchester on March 18, York on March 19 and London on March 27. Together with fellow Solicitors Group committee member Janet Taylor, Mr Smith will present the roadshows, which are aimed at accountants and their staff engaged in Solicitors’ Accounts Rules work.

“Feedback from our members shows there is a big demand for regional updates on the accounts rules and this new series of roadshows is aimed at meeting that need,” he said. “It is important that those working in this specialist field of accountancy keep abreast of the latest developments.”
