Name change brings new marketing post

INVESTMENT management firm Brewin Dolphin, named Wise Speke until recently, has appointed John Duns as its first business development and marketing director.

Charles May, Brewin Dolphin’s head of office, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that John has agreed to join us at this highly exciting time for our business.

“John will be responsible for raising our profile in the region as Brewin Dolphin and developing a greater awareness of the breadth and depth of our investment services to new and existing clients.

“We are particularly pleased that John’s arrival coincides with our move to spacious 41,000sq ft state-of-the-art offices at Time Central in Newcastle in April.

“John’s role will cover the promotion and development of all divisions of Brewin Dolphin in Newcastle including investment management for private clients and charities, investment banking for corporate clients and also the firm’s financial planning teams.”

Mr Duns, formerly business development director at Newcastle law firm Watson Burton, said: “I have lived and worked in the North East business community for some 25 years and I am delighted to be involved in the exciting growth plans for Brewin Dolphin.”
