Stephen heads bank’s new team

LLOYDS TSB Corporate Markets has announced the appointment of Stephen Carmichael, as director in its North East office, where, alongside recent recruit, Gary Chapman, he will head up the new team created specifically for corporate finance transactions.

The bank, recently named Bank of the Year for the fourth consecutive time, now has a fully fledged corporate finance team in the North East.

Stephen Carmichael, voted the Insider Dealmaker Corporate Banker of the Year for the North East of England in 2007, will be working alongside professionals within the North East business community to help drive regionally based corporate finance transactions, primarily where the senior debt funding request is within the £2m-£10m bracket.

Mike Mullaney, area director, Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets, said: “With Stephen Carmichael and Gary Chapman, we have arguably the most experienced corporate finance specialists in the North East.

“Stephen is widely regarded by the local business community as having in-depth knowledge when dealing with corporate finance opportunities. From Carlisle to Middlesbrough, our new corporate finance specialists can answer all management needs, whether strategic acquisitions or MBO funding.”

Mr Carmichael said: “This is a special opportunity and I was really attracted to the challenge of establishing a dedicated team here that will focus on driving regional corporate finance transactions throughout the whole of the North East.

“The Lloyds TSB strategy is a refreshing one for the business community – building regionally based relationships using staff that are locally based.”
