BUSINESS advisory firm Deloitte has expanded and strengthened its North East practice with the appointment of two experienced professionals.
Deloitte Newcastle’s eight-strong public sector team has appointed Paul Thomson and Abi Broderick, both from PwC. Both have extensive experience working predominantly in healthcare and financial management roles.
Paul Thomson, from Hartlepool, joins Deloitte as direct entry partner and will play a leading role in driving the firm’s planned expansion of the public sector practice across the North of England.
He also has experience in supporting public sector organisations to develop corporate governance best practice, advising NHS Trusts on preparation for Foundation Trust status, assessing merger and acquisition opportunities and developing financial management best practice.
Paul said: “I am looking forward to putting my experience into practice within my new role here at Deloitte. We’ll significantly be looking to raise the profile of Deloitte in the areas of health and local government work and will be recruiting more people to take our team to an even higher level.”
Abi Broderick, from North Shields, has been recruited as a senior manager.
She will be responsible for delivering external audit work in the NHS sector, working with applicant and licensed Foundation Trusts and financial assurance and governance work.
Abi said: “It’s an exciting time to be joining Deloitte. Public sector is something I have always been passionate about and particularly the health sector.
“We are currently working with a large number of North East NHS bodies so it’s a really busy time for us at the moment.”
Senior partner at Deloitte Newcastle Paul Williamson, said: “Paul and Abi are significant additions to the North East’s public sector team that is continuing to grow and develop.”
