AUDIT specialist Mick Jeffrey is the new chairman of a 1,800-member strong regional accounting body.
Mr Jeffrey, 33, has taken over from Andrew Jackson, at the Tyne & Wear Society of Chartered Accountants.
Now a director with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Newcastle, he joined the firm in 1996, qualifying as a chartered accountant three years later.
A former pupil of Cramlington High School, he is an economics graduate of Birmingham University.
Among his priorities in his new role is to encourage more local members to join the TWSCA committee.
Mr Jeffrey, who is also vice-chairman of Coquetdale Round Table, enjoys running, football, cricket, walking and reading in his spare time.
