RBS man James glad to be back in North

THE Royal Bank of Scotland has appointed James Cornell as director of commercial banking covering Tees Valley which encompasses South Durham to Northallerton.
Mr Cornell, who has 19 years’ experience with RBS, will lead a 12-strong team working with customers with an annual turnover of between £1m and £25m. He started his career in the bank’s branch network in Harrogate and went on to work in commercial banking undertaking roles in credit, relationship management and business development in South and West Yorkshire.
James, who comes from Teesside is married with two children. In his spare time he plays golf and enjoys holidays in Italy. He said: “It’s great to be back in the North East. I am looking forward to working with the team in Tees Valley to assist businesses by taking the time to understand their strategic ambitions and then work with them to help deliver their growth plans.
“Ultimately I am looking forward to working with such a strong team in the North East to enhance our customer proposition and develop new business opportunities for the bank within the region as RBS continues to invest heavily in the area.”
