Global justice link to smooth clients’ paths

AS part of the continued development of its commercial group, law firm Sintons has joined the International Jurists (IJ), a network of mid-sized commercial law firms around the world.

With member firms in most European countries, the Far East and both North and South America, IJ enables its member firms to access the legal advice their clients may require in their cross-border transactions. Chris Welch, partner and joint head of the Sintons company and commercial department, said: “A growing number of our clients require advice on matters in other countries.

“We identified IJ as a useful means of ensuring that our clients continue to receive the quality of advice that they get from Sintons, even when they are dealing outside the UK. When clients are faced with commercial issues in other countries, it is vital to have immediate access to local advice from people that you know and trust.

“All members of IJ are subject to a detailed admission procedure to ensure the quality of the member firms. Just as important is the fact that the members of IJ work hard to get to know each other. Rather than referring clients to somebody that we don’t know, based only on a website or directory entry, we are now able to introduce our clients to like minded lawyers around the world who we have met and who we know will take all steps to look after our clients’ interests.”
