North Star Equity Investors advance

ANOTHER successful year by a North East venture capital organisation has seen it complete 85 deals

North Star Equity Investors has seen its co-investment fund complete over 30 transactions and its proof of concept fund involved in 55 deals with a total joint investment of £33m.

Chief executive Marion Bernard said: “In 2009 we will continue our investment activity in the North East, backing some of the most talented and inspirational businesses in the technology and innovation sectors and helping early stage companies raise the finance they need to succeed.

“In 2008 we were (once again!) awarded the accolade of North East Private Equity/Venture Capital House of the Year, only achieved due to the continuing success of our growing portfolio of investee companies.”
