Amtech more than happy with Gordon Brown

AN engineering business is expanding with the help of a commercial property expert at North East law firm Gordon Brown Associates.

Amtech Rapid Prototyping was born from the redundancy of four colleagues in 2005 and has recently moved to new premises.

Martin Donnelly, commercial property lawyer with Gordon Brown’s Chester-le-Street branch helped the new venture to secure a lease on a 1,000 sq ft site on Boldon Business Park, Wearside.

Less than four years on, Amtech has once again called upon the services of Gordon Brown Associates.

Now, the business has moved into new 3,500 sq ft premises on Simonside East Industrial Estate, in South Shields and Martin has again used his skills to complete the lease on the site.

The business produces high quality working prototypes and small production runs of new products in all market sectors.

Gordon Brown Associates, which has offices in Chester-le-Street, Newcastle, Sunderland, Houghton-le- Spring and Stanley, was recommended for the first deal by Amtech’s accountant, Keith Robinson & Co, Newcastle.

Ian Judd, managing director of Amtech, said: “We were very pleased to find a firm and a lawyer so easy to work with, so we were happy to go back to Martin at Gordon Brown Associates for our second lease when we decided we needed to expand. We have recently taken on two more people and the new premises give us a chance to expand further when the time is right.”

Martin Donnelly said: “Amtech Rapid Prototyping has really shown it can thrive in difficult market conditions.”
