Firm sees a great deal of success at awards ceremony

IT was a night of triumph for the Newcastle office of business advisory and accountancy firm KPMG at the annual Deal Awards.
The KPMG Corporate Finance team took more than a third of the awards on offer including the prestigious Dealmaker of the Year title which went to the firm’s head of corporate finance in the region, Rod Wilkinson.
KPMG’s sale of County Durham’s Quantum Specials to a Lloyds Development Capital-backed management buy out was named Deal of the Year.
David Stevens, from KPMG’s corporate finance team was named Young Dealmaker of the Year and KPMG also scooped the title, corporate finance advisory team of the year which meant the team took four of the 11 awards.
Newcastle-based law firm Muckle and Barclays Bank each had a successful evening picking up two awards each.
Mr Wilkinson said: “A good deal of hard work, persistence and innovation from the team during a testing time lies behind these awards which mean a huge amount to us.”
