ACCOUNTANCY firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) in Newcastle has appointed 20 new graduates and one HEADstart placement.
Over half the graduates have joined from local universities, including the University of Newcastle, Northumbria University and Durham University. The HEADstart placement joins the firm directly from college, having studied at Durham Sixth Form.
The graduates, the majority of whom will be studying for the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA) qualification, will work in the firm’s assurance, risk assurance services, public sector and tax departments.
Paul Woolston, senior partner, Pwc LLP, Newcastle, said: “PwC believes in fostering and retaining the region’s graduates along with supporting the local community, this will help to further strengthen our practice and our local expertise which, in turn, benefits our clients. Our new graduates are a welcome addition to a very strong and committed team here in Newcastle.
“I’m delighted to welcome them to our Newcastle office and wish them all the best with their careers at the firm.”
PwC was this year named The Times newspaper’s leading graduate employer for the sixth year in a row.
