THE man named North East Non- Executive Director of the Year has agreed to resume his position as chairman of Newcastle law firm Mincoffs.
John Josephs, who earlier this month won the award at the North East Business Executive of the Year Awards, organised by The Journal and the Evening Gazette, has been re-appointed after Mincoffs’ de-merger with Jacksons.
Mr Josephs has had an association of nearly 40 years with Mincoffs which started when he was a partner at Newcastle accountants RMT, and continued when he was finance director and then managing director of Metro Radio Group.
Since then he has had an involvement with companies and charities including the University of Northumbria, the Community Foundation and the MS Society.
Howard Gold, senior partner at Mincoffs, said: “I am delighted that we have John’s experience to assist us in further growth of Mincoffs.”
In recent years Mr Josephs has been chairman of Washington Display, the Washington-based manufacturer of metal products for point-of-sale displays.
It was his contribution to this business that earned him the title of the North East’s second Non-Executive Director of the Year at the awards earlier this month.
Mincoffs merger with Teesside law firm Jacksons ended last month after less than a year together.
