OVER 30 JOBS have been created throughout the North East thanks to The Works bookstore with help from their legal and property advisers Mincoffs Solicitors.
The North East firm of solicitors have been working with the discount book store since 2008 and in that time have helped them expand nationally by advising on new leases, assignments and renewals.
Last year The Works opened an additional 39 stores throughout the UK and another five within the North East – at Durham, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Stockton – taking their total number of stores to over 250 with plans to expand and renew current leases throughout the region.
The Works’ retail director Kerry Hughes said: “Phil Dean and his team at Mincoffs have been invaluable advising The Works on all aspects of the leases and in legal dealings on the properties, especially at a time when so many other bookshops both large and small, are struggling to survive.”
Phil Dean partner at Mincoffs Solicitors said: “Due to the effective delivery of their portfolio and commercial legal advice, we are delighted to be able to assist in managing their portfolio further, especially in the current economic climate when other book stores are going into administration.
“We have continued to enjoy our great relationship with The Works Stores following the transfer from The Works Retail in 2008.”
