BANKERS from the North East corporate division of Yorkshire Bank have helped a Borders company secure an overseas business.
Emtelle Holdings BV, based in Hawick in the Scottish Borders, has purchased Indian micro-irrigation business Parixit Industries Limited, which will begin making the company’s cable ducts next year.
Emtelle, which was established in 1999, makes the ducts for a host of communications clients, including BT, and has seen increased growth over recent years as companies replace lines with more sophisticated materials such as fibre optic cables.
The ducts protect internet cables as well as allow them to be installed and replaced much more easily.
The acquisition was made with the support of HSBC’s North East-based Corporate Banking team, led by global relationship manager Marc Gorton.
Mike Swift, HSBC deputy head of corporate banking Yorkshire and the North East, said: “We work with the company on a global scale and have watched as the business has grown in strength and entered new geographical markets. In this instance, we were also able to support the company with the help of our team in India.”
