BARCLAYS Corporate, the corporate banking arm of Barclays Bank has appointed Basab Majumdar to corporate director international, northern England.
He will be responsible for driving international opportunities for Barclays Corporate’s clients in the North.
Majumdar joins from HSBC where spent 17 years, largely in India. He was head of national sales for trade and cash management and head of corporate banking for India’s western region, the country’s financial hub.
In this role Majumdar reports to Tony Walsh, managing director, Barclays Corporate, northern England.
Walsh said: “Basab’s appointment is a reflection of our confidence in the international business opportunities for our clients in the region and our desire to support a more specialized approach to the market.
“We have a lot of clients with opportunities to grow beyond these shores.”
