Investment boost for Adlink Data Communications

BUSINESS angels have invested more than £200,000 into Newcastle-based software development company, Adlink Data Communications (UK).

Adlink, a sister company of Newcastle-based advertising agency Admast, specialises in media and advertising.

Newcastle lay firm Watson Burton’s corporate team, led by associate James Nightingale, advised Adlink on the investment, which will see them further develop the workflow management system, making transactions easier between the advertiser, agency and media outlet.

The company secured £150,000 from Rivers Capital Partners on behalf of the North East Angel Fund, with additional sums invested through founders and a private angel investor in Adlink.

Andrew Mate of Adlink said: “Our online software is unique in helping our clients in every aspect of their work, making the management process for the media faster and more efficient.

“We are delighted to receive the funding and think that this will help us take our business forward through some very exciting times.”

Watson Burton’s team was led by partner Duncan Reid.

Nightingale said: “As a national law firm with roots in the North East, we are delighted to act for innovative regional businesses such as Adlink.

“We believe it is vital that investment is made into business growth in the region and are pleased that the organisation, their clients and the North East as a whole will benefit from the investment.”
