NEW North East law firm Collingwood Legal is to move from its Corbridge base to Newcastle Business Park.

Collingwood Legal was set up late last year by former Watson Burton partner Paul McGowan. It employs five people and has plans for further growth based around its move into the city.

Key clients include Stiller Warehousing & Distribution Ltd and St Andrew’s Healthcare, the UK’s largest not-for- profit mental healthcare charity.

McGowan said: “In less than a year, Collingwood Legal has become a successful and well-recognised part of the North East legal community, and we’re pleased to have been able to celebrate this progress with our clients and friends. The business has developed even more quickly than I’d originally hoped, with significant contract wins coming from both inside and outside the region, and our success is testament to the quality of service and legal expertise that the Collingwood team offers.

“Moving into the city was always part of our business plan, and we’re extremely pleased to have secured a Newcastle base from which we can launch the next phase of our development.”

McGowan says Collingwood is a relationship-based practice which specialises in employment law, and works with a number of well-known public and private- sector organisations across and outside the North East.
