NATIONWIDE bankers Barclays Corporate is increasing its support of multinational corporates (MNC) and their subsidiaries with the introduction of local relationship directors in key regions across the UK.

Each UK region will now have locally-based MNC relationship directors working closely with colleagues around the world to establish and strengthen relationships with these UK subsidiaries and their parent companies, providing on the ground banking support for some of the UK’s largest employers.

Multinationals continue to invest heavily in the UK, with a United Nations report recently identifying more than US$1trillion in foreign direct investment in the UK economy.

Brian Thorpe, Barclays corporate head of the North East said: “Growing our multinational corporate franchise is a key pillar of our long term corporate banking strategy.”
