What did you want to be when you were young?
I always wanted to make things! Anything!

How much was your first pay packet and what did you spend it on?
It was 2 shillings and sixpence and I spent it all on a 45 rpm record and a Matchbox toy.

What's your dream job, other than your current one?
What I'd really love to do is to own and run my own business.

What's the best piece of business advice you have received?
Nothing is impossible.

And the worst?
Why not put it off until tomorrow

What is your philosophy when it comes to business?
Nothing succeeds like success.

What are your hobbies?
When I have any spare time, I love playing golf and doing a spot of DIY.

What's your top business or financial tip?
Absolutely nothing is more important than customer care.

Does anything scare you and if so what?
Yes, wasps! This is after recently discovering five nests in my loft!

What would you choose as your epitaph?
He was a champion of manufacturing.
