TH_NK you can do it too?

THE Cultural and Creative Business Award recognises the strength of the North-east creative industries.

This sector continues to be of increasing significance to the region.

A report by regional development agency One NorthEast recently said more than 9,000 new jobs are expected to be created in the area’s commercial creative industry in the next five years.

The sector, which includes advertising, film and television, games and new media, music, performing arts and publishing, is already worth £800m to the region’s economy, has 2,200 businesses and employs 30,000 people.

This category at the awards is open to firms across the North-east - but only one award is made, at the grand final. Last year the title went to brand technology company TH_NK in Newcastle. Gary Glozier, creative director, said: “2006 was an outstanding year for us.”
