Guide dogs boost

INSURANCE broker Smart and Cook, based in Stockton and Northallerton has raised £27,454.32 for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

The funds were raised through the ‘Walk of Sight’, a creative fundraising campaign organised by Smart and Cook to help the thousands of visually impaired people living in the UK.

A series of fundraising walks has seen staff notch up 600 miles. And the company has now adopted two puppies and will support their training and development.

Clients for PR firm

AWARD-WINNING PR, marketing and design agency Cool Blue Brand Communications of Middlesbrough is expanding.

The team has secured a number of new clients including communications provider BNS Telecom, based in Low Prudhoe, Northumberland, E-connect - connection specialists in the renewable energy sector based in Hexham with offices in Ireland and Australia - and renewable energy technology company, C-Power.

The volume of new business wins and subsequent increase in design, new media and PR work has led to the creation of five new jobs at the firm.

Contract for Sawfish

SAWFISH Software, the York-based developer of SalesFlow, has been awarded a significant contract to implement a new customer relationship management service for Teesside-based training provider TTE Technical Training Group.

As part of the new contract Sawfish Software will provide TTE with a bespoke version of its internet-based CRM software SalesFlow, which will allow the firm to replace outgrown systems and more effectively coordinate operations across its global offices.

TTE has facilities in Scotland, Azerbaijan and Dubai.

Useful award for EEF

MANUFACTURERS have voted EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, their most useful agency or organisation for the sixth year running in the Annual Manufacturing Report, published by The Manufacturer magazine.

Passengers up

NO-FRILLS airline easyJet has reported a 13% jump in passenger numbers as it maintained the strong rate of growth seen over the last year. The figure of 2.9 million for the month of November was helped by the addition of eight destinations and 46 routes in the financial year to the end of September, taking its flying programme to 289 routes through 77 airports. It said it would introduce a further six new routes in the spring.
