TNT put a cap on waste and win award

TEESSIDE-BASED express delivery giant TNT is taking big steps in reducing its carbon footprint.

The recently won ISO14001 accreditation – assessed by the Lloyds Register Quality Assurance – is an official acknowledgement that TNT, based at Durham Tees Valley Airport, is putting a cap on waste and looking after the environment.

TNT locations up and down the country were involved in the critical examination processes, with assessors conducting checks on the company’s environmental management activities. These included waste reduction and recycling, fuel efficiency, environmental training, pollution control, energy reduction as well as examining TNT’s “Planet me” initiatives.

Campbell Ferrier, Teesside depot general manager, said: “This is a tremendous achievement for the business.”
