Service with a green smile

WHO said men can’t iron?
Twenty-six-year-old fashion enterprise student Steven Gunn from Middlesbrough has turned it into a ethical art form by launching Board Stiff Ironing - thought to be the first such sustainable service on Teesside.
Featuring reusable, fairly traded packaging, he’s tapped into a growing trend for socially responsible products that put the green into clean.
The Cleveland College of Art and Design student developed the idea while studying for a fashion enterprise degree, creating his own website at www.myspace.com/boardstiffironing and creating a simple, sustainable brand image.
“At the end of the day it’s only ironing, but it adds a bit of uniqueness,” said Steven.
