A TEESSIDE food store is up for sale, after 25 years of ownership.

The Newcastle office of business agents Christie and Co has been instructed to sell Gibbons Foodstore in Hartlepool.

The business is located in a shopping parade on a main road opposite a social club, surrounded by housing and on the outskirts of a regeneration area.

An end-terrace property, the retail sales area occupies the ground floor and sells a range of convenience products, sweets, confectionery and alcohol.

There is a two/three-bedroom maisonette above, which has separate access to the side and from the stock room, and can be closed off so the flat can be rented out separately.

Andrew Birnie, from Christie and Co, said the current owners had operated the store for 25 years but were now retiring.
