Middlesbrough designer claims Printing.com award

A MIDDLESBROUGH designer has continued a company tradition by beating more than 500 competitors in an annual design awards.
Greg Lumley, a designer at Printing.com in Corporation Road, Middlesbrough, scooped the top accolade for his design of a sophisticated cocktail menu for Middlesbrough bar, Blue Lounge, at the national Printing.com awards.
The former Teesside University graphic design student followed in the footsteps of previous winners, Lee Pitman and Nick Watson, who have won awards for the studio.
Greg, 24, said: “I was overwhelmed to win the award, especially as I’m so early into my career. The Middlesbrough store has won the awards for the previous two years and I was relieved to keep the standards up!
“I am really pleased with my designs, but with so many hundreds of entries you wonder if you really do stand a chance.”
The Middlesbrough franchise of Printing.com has been running for just three years and is the only outlet from 220 stores nationwide to have scooped an award for three consecutive years.
Garry Ingoldsby, store director, said: “I am really pleased for Greg, he was up against some tough competition from some of the best designers across the country.
“It’s great to see Middlesbrough recognised for a third year running, it will also be exciting for Greg and the store to see his winning artwork featured in Printing.com’s national marketing.
“It’s an amazing achievement for someone so early into their career and we’re looking forward to keeping the Middlesbrough tradition going in next year’s awards.”
