HUNDREDS of children in County Durham have been warned of the dangers of playing on building sites.
Haslam Homes North East has been taking the message to schools. Children from Bowburn Infant and Nursery School were some of the first to benefit, before the programme moves on to West Rainton, Brandon Infants and Bowburn Junior Schools.
With building sites at Southcroft Park, Stanley; The Croft, Consett; and Oakridge in Burnhope, the firm is keen for youngsters to steer clear of the developments.
Marketing manager Ian Leech said: “It’s important that children recognise that building sites aren’t playgrounds and that even the most experienced builders require safety protection and need to take care when working on site.
“By making it fun, we can help to ensure they understand and remember the key messages and warnings.”
